Studio Art & Craft
The Studio Art & Craft program equips students with the skills and knowledge to become critical thinkers, successful artists, and entrepreneurs. Students apply their skills to a range of industries including art restoration, textile design, clay modeling and more. Graduates are prepared to enter a wide range of creative professions from running their own studios, exhibiting their work, working in galleries and museums, as well as non-profit initiatives.

The Studio Art & Craft program boasts impressive facilities including a printmaking studio, state-of-the-art foundry, a ceramics studio, a fully-functioning glassblowing studio, fibers studios, a sculpture studio, a woodshop, a metalshop, a jewelry studio and a digital fabrication studio.

Visiting artists are a vital part of the SA&C experience, connecting students with accomplished professionals who offer firsthand insight into building and sustaining successful careers in the arts. Through lectures, demonstrations, and conversations, students gain valuable perspectives on contemporary artistic practice and the creative professions.
Our department-sponsored Visiting Artist Series is open to the public, enriching both the campus and the broader community. Regional and nationally recognized artists also work directly with our seniors through one-on-one studio visits as part of the year-long Senior Studio capstone course. These individualized critiques and mentoring opportunities provide students with meaningful professional feedback, strengthen their creative development, and help prepare them for careers and graduate study.
