Community Outreach & Engagement
CCS is a driving force in Detroit’s economic and community development, providing transformative creative educational opportunities to youth and lifelong learners across the region.
Our community impact reaches far beyond the classroom through our outreach programs, and the success of our community is an integral part of our mission. From Precollege classes and vibrant neighborhood art programs to public gallery exhibitions and inspiring Woodward and Toyota Lecture Series’, CCS actively contributes to the cultural vitality of Southeast Michigan.
As central pillars of our campus, CCS proudly houses and administers Community Arts Partnerships, Design Core Detroit, and Kresge Arts in Detroit. Through these foundational programs, CCS acts as the administrative backbone for initiatives that extend our reach far beyond the classroom – funding local creators, educating city youth, and shaping Detroit’s global design ecosystem.
