Hazing incident statistics reflect calendar year 2025 only. Institutions were first required to begin collecting hazing incident data effective January 1, 2025, under the Stop Campus Hazing Act; accordingly, no 2023 or 2024 hazing statistics are available or required.

Hazing incidents are classified and counted using the definition of “hazing” set forth in 20 U.S.C. § 1092(f)(6)(A)(vi), the Clery Act definition, which governs this statistic regardless of any differing definition used elsewhere in this report or under Michigan law. Hazing incidents are compiled per single incident; where the same person or persons commit more than one hazing act with insignificant time and place intervals separating each act, such acts are reported as a single hazing incident.
