My educational background is in art history and American studies, and my research usually focuses in on the history of U.S. visual culture from 1848-1945. I’ve noticed through the years that I have a soft spot in my heart for “outliers”(HINT: think outlaws, pirates, marginalized women) and how they are portrayed in popular culture.
