Colin is an award-winning designer whose work bridges furniture, lighting, interiors, and branded environments.
Colin Tury began his career in New York as Furniture and Lighting Director at AvroKO after earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies. He went on to receive his Master of Fine Arts from the Herron School of Art and Design, where he honed both craft and conceptual thinking.
Back in Michigan, Colin established a practice designing custom furniture and lighting for private clients and hospitality projects, developing a tactile understanding of how objects shape space. At Shinola, he expanded into product and retail design, leading efforts across stores, audio, and lifestyle categories. In recent years, his focus has turned toward interiors, creating branded spaces that balance narrative and function. His projects emphasize custom furniture, fixtures, and lighting as tools to define identity, evoke emotion, and create environments that resonate on a human level. His work has been recognized in Architectural Digest, Hospitality Design, Dwell, and Designboom.
