Kevin Beasley, CCS Fine Arts alumnus and world renowned artist, is one of six artists short-listed for the Hugo Boss Prize 2020, the biennial award for significant achievement in contemporary art.
Hyperallergic recently sat down with CCS alumna Brenda Goodman about her artmaking practices, the evolution of her work and what influences her. She received her BFA from the College for Creative Studies along with an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts in 2017. After moving to New York City in 1976, her work was included in the 1979 Whitney Biennial and she has had over 40 solo exhibitions.
The Detroit Scarab Club is hosting CCS alumna Lois Teicher solo exhibition, “Lois Teicher: Woman of Steel.” The Detroit News refers to the show as “electrifying,” and asks “Why doesn’t downtown Detroit boast more large-scale Lois Teicher sculptures?”
