I believe that innovation is not a siloed effort but a strategic lever that should be embedded throughout an organization. I work with clients to cultivate a culture where innovation and execution go hand in hand. My goal is to help build a dynamic ecosystem where ideas are not only generated, but thoughtfully tested, refined, and integrated—both internally and externally. Whether imagining new products or applications, designing new print methods or processes, experimenting with the current and developing technologies, my goal is to push the interiors market and investigate customer (and non-customer) needs and desires to create relevant, compelling, and purpose-driven solutions through design.

Professional Experience

I have over 25 years of design experience with a versatile portfolio spanning branding, innovation consulting, retail design, interior design, furniture and textile design. My work includes hospitality, residential, and commercial design. I have had the pleasure of working with 3 industry icons—including Mark Cunningham, Commune Design, and as Director of Interior Design for Kelly Wearstler. I opened LJB Home Design in 2012 with residential projects in California, Texas, Oregon, Tennessee and Montana. Eight years ago, I recognized the untapped potential of digital textile printing. In collaboration with Kathryn Sanders, Western Sensibility was founded and we redefined the aesthetic of printed substrates for interiors. Today, as an Adjunct Professor (previously at Lawrence Technological University, now currently at the College for Creative Studies) and Innovation Consultant, I work to mine fresh ideas and spark meaningful transformation—whether through new product development, advanced print methods, process design, or the exploration of current and emerging substrate applications, in addition to interior spaces that inspire warmth, imagination and connection.
