Professional Experience
My education includes a Bachelor of Science, 60 Hour Art Major, with a Teaching, Design, and Drawing Minor from Western Michigan University, M.A. from Eastern Michigan/Reading Certification, and 30 Hours of Brain-Based learning. I have been teaching at the College for Creative Studies Art Education Department since 2015, where I teach 407 Reading and Language Arts Methods and mentor Directed Teaching Students in their classroom experience. My leadership within my district, where I taught for 25 years, included mentoring new teachers, long-range district planning as an arts advisor, art room facility advisor, curriculum writing K-12, and leadership roles for building growth/state ratings. Prior to teaching, I was a business owner, manufacturer’s rep/mainframe computer battery backup systems, and a business owner/florist.Â
