Erica Heathcote
Adjunct Faculty
Freelance Graphic Designer
College for Creative Studies, Communication Design
(2017 - 2021)
Exploring how ideas move across brand and motion, this work focuses on how meaning shifts when communication spans multiple channels rather than living in a single format. It centers on the relationship between visual identity, motion behavior, and narrative structure, with an emphasis on building systems that remain flexible while still feeling clear and cohesive.
Her research interests also include experimental print practices, particularly risograph printing, as a way to explore color and reproduction in book arts. Through her press, Sisters Press, this work functions as an ongoing site for experimentation, publishing, and collaboration.
Professional Experience
Erica is a freelance graphic and motion designer working across brand identity and motion graphics. She has worked with studios including Gretel, Good Done Daily, Sibling Rivalry, Base Design, Trollback + Co, And/Or, and Duolingo, and has experience teaching and guest lecturing alongside her professional practice.
