Professional Experience
Dominic Bodden is an award-winning illustrator and fine artist based in New York City. His work combines traditional and digital approaches, including pastel, paint, and paper collage, and focuses on narrative-driven image making and visual storytelling. Bodden’s illustrations have been recognized by major professional organizations, including American Illustration, The Society of Illustrators, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, and Communication Arts. He is the recipient of a Silver Cube Award from the Art Directors Club, a Bronze Award from the 3×3 Illustration Annual, and the New Talent Award at the 2021 World Illustration Awards. His professional clients include The New York Times, Vanity Fair, ProPublica, Harper’s Magazine, The RAND Corporation, Bloomsbury Publishing, Smithsonian Magazine, and the New York MTA. Prior to working as an illustrator, Bodden had a background in fashion as a costume designer and stylist, an experience that continues to influence his visual sensibility and approach to image making. He teaches Painting and Image Making for Illustration in the Illustration Department at the College for Creative Studies
