Allison Runyan
Instructor/Lecturer
Lecturer of Art Education and Certification Officer
BFA; Fine Arts, Art Education, College for Creative Studies (2015-2019)
Runyan’s art has always been inspired by the idea of “play” and “child-like fun”. Both in the classroom and in her artistic practice, she puts an emphasis on experimentation, personal choice, play and failure to succeed. Drawing parallels from the importance of relationship building and individuality, Runyan’s own artwork practices these ideals through unique multi-layered pieces that are always full of bright colors and engulfing patterns through material exploration. In the classroom, Runyan is consistently researching and developing new strategies for implementing her take on “the classroom essentials”; building quality relationships, empathy and communication, differentiation in delivery, student centered learning and “edutainment”. As an educator, she works to implement and mentor prospective educators on these strategies in every class or course, regardless of age or topic.
