As a qualitative researcher, her interests lie in multiliteracies pedagogy, digital visual culture, and social justice.  Her research focuses on pedagogical approaches that foster multiliteracies and civic engagement.  This is achieved by critically examining and creating digital visual culture artifacts, such as Internet memes and viral videos, to promote diversity and social justice.

Owing to her background in media, she is particularly attuned to the nuances of multimodal communication through performance art and digital media. Consequently, her work explores the interplay between text and image, focusing on the multimodal communicative aspects of digital media artifacts.
