Professor Hobson is an innovative educator and sustainability specialist with expertise in circular economy, sustainable design, and closed-loop systems across business, education, and creative sectors. Experienced in curriculum development, experiential learning, and in-person instruction for diverse learners. Adept at fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and eco-conscious values through hands-on, interdisciplinary approaches.

Professional Experience

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

~Master Instructor – Sustainable Supply Chain, ISCEA (International Supply Chain Education Alliance) Cleveland, OH (2021–Present): Instructor for quarterly graduate/professional courses on sustainable product systems and circular design. Develops studio-based projects and guide students in industrial symbiosis and zero-waste manufacturing. Adapts curriculum in French/English for specialized audiences, including United Nations Supply Chain Team.

~Visiting Lecturer University of Paris Sorbonne Business School (December 2023): Conducted workshop on course development for sustainable supply chain and circular economy based on EU Green Deal Framework. Keynote Speaker for workshops on toxins in textiles.

~Visiting Lecturer University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI (2022-2023): Led hybrid graduate course on de-growth economies and circular business models. Focused on sustainable fashion & ethics and ESG in the workplace.

~Moderator & Instructor at LIM College (2020-2022): For Sustainable Fashion Webinar Series for Graduate Students. Sustainable Fashion Task Force in conjunction with NYC Mayor’s Climate & Environmental Justice, Green Building Council Auditor.

~Instructor & Sustainability Mentor – Climate Reality Project founded by VP Al Gore (2020–present): Mentored over 250 learners, promoting climate solutions that eliminate fossil fuels and replace with renewable energy sources/transitions.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

~Sustainability Consultant & Circular Economy Strategist (2019–2025): Advised clients on circular practices, developed educational materials, and collaborated with manufacturers to close material loops.

Previous clients: GS1 Connect, Lenovo, National Retail Federation, Alcott Global, Boeing, IBM , Deloitte, Greenbiz

~Senior Buyer, Procurement at Frimo Inc, Wixom, MI (2021–2024): Drove factory circularity initiatives. Developed Vendor Performance Score Card system and internal inventory system with QR codes to replace vendor managed inventory system – all plants in North America (automation). Also developed Curriculum and Supervise Supply Chain Summer Internship Program Retrofit use of refurbished, secondhand items as a sourcing strategy to reduce costs & improve sustainability by reducing waste.

~Senior Order Management Auditor & Trainer, Supply Chain at Genpact: Led supply chain management, training, process testing, and Six Sigma projects for CPG operations.
