The Communication Design department and the Detroit chapter of AIGA sponsored an exhibit by French Paper, a Michigan family-owned paper mill, on September 8. French Paper is celebrating its 150th anniversary by gathering and showcasing decades of historical printed materials and promotional items. As a part of a multi-city tour, “The Road to 150 Tour” shows off some of the highest-quality work you can find in print and paper.

Alumni-owned business Lunar North was one of four studios featured by Motionographer, the top motion design website that “… shares inspiring work and important news for the motion design, animation and visual effects communities.” Lunar North was co-founded and is owned by CCS Communication Design alumni Scott Waraniak (’10) and Marcus Mullins (’09).

2018 study abroad program, “Re-Program,” led by Associate Professor Chad Reichert and Professor Doug Kisor, is a three-week international graphic design program based in Den Haag, the Netherlands. This year, Re-Program hosted 12 students from around the United States, including students from CCS, Western Michigan, University of Houston, Sacramento State and California College of the Arts.
