CCS Heroes Week of 9/7/20
September 8, 2020Paying tribute to those on campus that are making a difference…
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, CCS has gone through a variety of changes. Moving to offer the option of remote learning, preparing campus with all the required safety measures, bringing our students, faculty and staff back to campus with confidence, and so much more, was (and still is) a massive undertaking. With all of the incredible and committed employees we have at CCS, it is no surprise that many have shined during this time of uncertainty and change.
To that end, we will honor our employees who have gone above and beyond to help the CCS community stay on track in the face of a global pandemic. We encourage you to nominate your CCS Hero here.
*Due to the volume of nominees, we will space out the features over the coming weeks.

Dayna Davis
Program Manager for Entertainment Arts and Interim Co-Executive Manager of Academic Affairs
Have you met “Super D?” She’s the Program Manager for Entertainment Arts and over the summer took on the additional duties as Program Manager for Photography and Co-Executive Manager of Academic Affairs. She also sits as Staff Assembly Executive Committee Ex-officio and on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council. Tired yet? There’s more. Over the summer she’s been training a new office assistant, preparing faculty for the Fall semester and supported several initiatives in the Office of Academic Affairs. Dayna works hard around the clock, is efficient, helpful, selfless, never complains, always offers constructive feedback, all while simultaneously advocating for the students and others. Her nominators say they aspire to be more like her, and that is why they call her “Super D.”

Katherine Campbell
Director of International Student Services
Katherine has worked relentlessly since the onset of COVID-19. As international students returned to campus after winter break, she started to hear whispers from abroad about a virus and quickly sprang into action. She started tracking the immigration status of all our international students as they quickly scattered across the globe, constantly monitored the news, having to rewrite immigration paperwork every time the federal government made another sudden change of policy. Katherine helped to make our students feel safe and secure as she interpreted the rules and laws being implemented. The cherry on top? She stood out in the rain in order to welcome our new class of international students onto campus in the very best way that circumstances allow.

Tim Flattery
Chair of Entertainment Arts and Interim Co-Leader of Undergraduate Studies
Tim leads the Entertainment Arts department, recently assumed the leadership role for Photography and, along with his colleague Don Kilpatrick, is co-leading the academic side of the house. Oh and, did we mention he’s still actively working as a concept designer in Hollywood? This guy doesn’t stop! Tim works tirelessly in several capacities at the College to help ensure its success. He’s working to improve the culture and processes and to help achieve a flatter and stronger structure, made up by very creative and capable staff and faculty.
