CCS Pathway to Promise Program

The College for Creative Studies (CCS)  Pathway to Promise program (formally known as the CCS Bridge Program) is for academically and artistically committed Detroit high school juniors and seniors. The Pathway to Promise (P2P) program prepares students to transition from high school to the rigor of an art and design college.Students must apply to the P2P program in their sophomore year of high school, must be Detroit residents, and must attend high school in Detroit.  Homeschooled students living in Detroit are also eligible.

CCS partners with the Detroit Promise to award up to 10 Scholarships to Detroit students. The Detroit Promise Scholarship is funded by College for Creative Studies, and covers any remaining tuition and mandatory fee expense after all federal and state aid has been awarded.The Detroit Promise Scholarship covers tuition and mandatory fees at CCS for each student, for 4 years. Students must enroll at full time status to be eligible for the award.

Being a member of the CCS Pathway to Promise program does not guarantee you a Detroit Promise Scholarship, though P2P members will receive updates, reminders, and assistance with the application process to ensure access to the program. To be eligible for a Detroit Promise Scholarship, students must apply through the Detroit Promise website and must meet all eligibility requirements as detailed on their website  www.detroitpromise.com. The Detroit Promise recommends students to CCS for scholarship consideration.

 

Applicant Requirements for the CCS Pathway to Promise program for students in their sophomore year of high school

  1. Must have above a 3.0 Overall GPA
  2. Must submit an art portfolio of 3-5 Images
  3. Must submit answers to 4-5 essay questions regarding artistic and academic interests.

 

Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2025. The CCS Pathway to Promise Program will begin each summer.

Students accepted into the program will receive opportunities to participate in the following educational programs at no cost:

  • Summer After Sophomore Year: Two One-week Summer Camps OR Precollege Summer Experience
  • Summer After Junior Year: Precollege Summer Experience
  • Fall of Senior Year: Dual Enrollment course
  • Winter/Spring of Senior Year: Dual Enrollment course
