Bernadette Miller received her MA in art history from Wayne State University in 2018. Her published dissertation was on the evolution of the sublime visual event in the American landscape. In Miller’s artistic practice, she explores the close relationship between the tangible and the intangible and using fantasy as a method of critique.
Professional Experience
Miller has been an adjunct for WSU’s art and art history department since 2018. In 2022, she was hired as adjunct faculty for the CCS liberal arts department. In 2020, she worked as an art instructor at an Ann Arbor high school, teaching a range of subjects, including studio art and ceramics. In addition to teaching art, Miller also makes it. She is the co-founder of Critical Fantasy, a sustainable fashion project that draws inspiration for its garments and jewelry from the inquisitive and imaginative nature of medieval illuminations.
