Redmond Design Award

The Redmond Design Award will recognize design excellence, vision, and talent and will inspire emerging artists. Awardees will be selected based on their artistic vision, design sense, and material usage.

Eligibility

• All currently enrolled full-time or part-time Craft & Material Studies students are eligible and encouraged to apply.
• Must be in good academic standing (GPA of at least 2.0).

Application

Create a single PDF containing:

• 8-10 quality images of artwork with title, year, materials, and dimensions noted below the image.
• An artist statement.
• Name your file: Lastname_firstname_2020Redmond
• Submit your application by noon on March 15th.
• Submit your application.

Selection

• A committee of 3-5 judges, which will include the Chair of Craft & Material Studies, faculty, and industry experts.
• Winners will be selected based on their artistic vision, design sense, and material usage.
• Award winners are expected to be announced by March 31, 2021.

Awards

• Two Vision and Excellence Awards: $10,000 each for juniors and/or seniors
• One Emerging Talent Award: $5,000 for a sophomore and/or junior
• Awardees will be recognized at CCS Student Exhibition.
